Understand your progress

Read your goal statuses, interpret confidence and choose your next action.

Understand your goal status

Status describes how your goal is progressing. Use the summary tiles to filter your goals; selecting several tiles includes goals matching any selected status. Select a tile again to remove that filter.

  • On track: progress is keeping pace with the goal.
  • Needs attention: progress is falling behind or needs a review. A change in your next actions may help.
  • At risk: progress is substantially behind. The summary also includes goals forecast to miss their target date.
  • More data: there is not enough recorded information for a useful assessment yet.
  • Achieved: the goal's success criteria have been met.
A status is a prompt to reviewIt is an assessment based on your recorded information, not a guarantee of the outcome.

Needs attention versus at risk

For goals assessed against progress over time, the app compares actual progress with the progress expected by today: at least 95% of expected progress is on track, 75% to below 95% needs attention, and below 75% is at risk.

For example, halfway through a goal, expected progress is 50%. Actual progress of 40% is 80% of the expected amount, so it needs attention. Actual progress of 30% is 60% of the expected amount, so it is at risk.

These are percentages of expected progress, not your overall completion percentage. Frequency, completion and other goal types can use different rules. A missed deadline or a forecast warning can also affect what you see.

Read the confidence bars

  • One filled bar: low confidence.
  • Two filled bars: medium confidence.
  • Three filled bars: high confidence.
  • No filled bars: confidence is unavailable.

Confidence describes the strength of the assessment, based on the available data. It does not describe how well you are doing or your chance of success. An at-risk goal can have high confidence; an on-track goal can have low confidence.

Decide what to do next

Open a goal to review its recorded progress, target, date and any available forecast or guidance. Check that your recent activity or measurements have been recorded. Use the goal's available check-in or editing controls to keep its information current.

If a goal needs attention or is at risk, review your next actions and whether its target and date still fit your circumstances. More data means recording relevant updates before drawing conclusions.

Saving and working offline

Goal changes are saved on this device and synchronised when a connection is available. The cloud status icon in the Goals header shows the current saving state; hover over it or focus it to read its hint.

Allow pending changes to sync before expecting them on another device. If changes need review, follow the action shown. Features that request online coaching need a connection.
